When a building begins to make an impact not only architecturally but also socially, it usually means more has happened than just a renovation. At Friday morning’s press briefing, experts in urban planning, science, future research, and real estate gathered to discuss the transformation of the building, originally constructed in 2001. The core topic: How can ecological, economic, and social requirements be successfully integrated in the renewal of existing properties—and how can such transformation become more than just “another office building”?
Participants of the Press Briefing:
- Holger Hosang, Managing Partner, Sonar Real Estate
- Prof. Dr. Marcus Gwechenberger, Frankfurt City Councilor for Planning and Housing
- Oona Horx Strathern, Future Researcher, Author, and International Speaker
- Matthias Pink, Head of Research at Savills
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. Agnes Weilandt, Program Director “Future-Proof Building,” Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences
- Moderator: Lotta Polter
The speakers engaged in a lively discussion moderated by Lotta Polter, exploring various aspects of the PRISMA’s refurbishment in a unique setting within the atrium. Numerous media representatives attended the event and were subsequently given an exclusive guided tour of the building. Christina Diehl and Daniel Jäde from Sonar Real Estate answered journalists’ questions and showcased not only the seven massive heat pumps on the roof of the twelve-story building but also the showroom on the eighth floor, one of the winter gardens overlooking the Frankfurt skyline, and the spectacular bridges connecting floors across the atrium.
